Starlights Drago

2014. AQHA. 15H. Gelding.

$20,000 - SOLD in less then 12 Hours!

“Starlights Drago” is a stylish buckskin AQHA gelding, standing right at 15H! Bursting with talent, character, and sweetness we affectionately call him “CoosCoos” around the barn. This 2014 model is probably one of the BROKEST geldings we have had in to sell – he tickles my fancy each and every time I swing a leg over him. This boy is just lovely – from his handle, to his personality – he is totally the barn favorite!

With 4.1k in NRHA LTE, this gelding is a huge show stopper with a ton of appeal! He lopes around cute, classy, smooth, and easy on a draped rein. Pitter Patter like jog that is easily extendable into a big trot, with seamless lope off departures. Easy flying changes, good speed control, more whoa then go, and a BIG stopper every time. This guy has ALL the bells & whistles, all whilst having a straight forward handle.  CoosCoos is a good mover and was broke RIGHT – a true all-around contender for a youth or teenager. Take him and show him in both the English & Western events 4-H, locally, or go back and show NRHA.  Ride him once a week or 5X a week – he will be the same ride.

He is a very laid-back gelding, with excellent ground manners. His favorite word is whoa, and sometimes you have to lug him to the crossties to tack up. CoosCoos is absolutely never in a hurry to get anywhere,  he takes his time and does everything on a loose rein.  He clips, ties, stands for farrier, loads, travels well, stands quiet for mounting, bathes, and super easy to catch. CoosCoos is a total love bug – he LOVES to snuggle, receive kisses, cookies, and all the attention.  His ears are always perked up as he is such a happy & willing to please kind of gelding!

He showed in the reining up until selling at the Twombly Performance Sale for 24k, Fall of 2018! Since then, he has been kicked out to pasture and been used as a trail horse.  Whilst he has some exposure riding out on the trails/ranch he much prefers and is most comfortable in an arena setting.   We would prefer to find him another “show” home, as this is where he shines the most. He has been back in a program for 45 days now, getting conditioned and legged back up. This is one you could take and show next weekend – easy!

CoosCoos enjoys a “leader” of a rider, he will not suit a timid/nervous rider. However, in a program he would suit a confident beginner. CoosCoos will gaze at things from time to time, so he is best suited for a rider that can call his bluff. We rode him downtown, at Sonic, at a park, and on our obstacle course with no major issues. He was a little reluctant at first to go over the big bridge, but with some encouragement he was a team player. We found his inner mer-horse when he took one of my riders nose deep into the pond, needless to say he loves water! He isn’t spooky with the tarp, banners, flags, etc.

CoosCoos is up to date on shots, dental, coggins, farrier, and deworming. We keep him stalled during the day, and turned out at night. I will be sad to see this one go, as he is such a cool gelding. CoosCoos is sound, healthy, and has clean legs/good feet. He is located in Terrell, TX. Shipping can be arranged to any state. If you want one with the biggest personality, sweetest soul, and easiest ride – sit back & enjoy the ride on this stylish gelding!
