Brave, fun, and incredibly dependable trail/obstacle mare for someone shopping on a budget!

"Secret" is the kind of trail horse everyone hopes to find. Nothing seems to faze her, and her teddy bear-sized stature makes her incredibly easy to mount and dismount on the trail.

​

She has been trail ridden through thick brush, down roads, in town, through parks, and across open pasture. She's been ridden bareback, double, sideways, backwards, and forwards—and couldn't care less. Horses this gentle, level-headed, and sure-footed rarely come along at this price point.

​

Secret is truly a point-and-shoot type of ride. She will confidently go through, over, or around just about any obstacle you point her toward and is always eager to please. She has never offered to buck, rear, or cause trouble under saddle. Leave her off for months, saddle her back up, and she'll ride just as quietly as the day you put her away.

She's about as handy as they come. A rope has been swung off her, a bullwhip cracked from her back, ...and she's a punchy, cow-pushing pony out in the pasture.  She's been hauled to different arenas and takes new environments completely in stride. In the arena, she's uncomplicated with no fancy buttons and is naturally forward moving. Please don't ask if your child can ride her—I simply don't know your child's riding ability.

Tarps? Flags? Barking dogs? Wild turkeys? Water crossings? None of it bothers her.

Secret has a stout build with a round barrel, plenty of bone, and four solid black barefoot hooves. She loads easily, stands quietly in the cross ties for grooming and saddling, and is excellent for the veterinarian and farrier. She is current on vaccinations, Coggins, deworming, dental care, and farrier work. She sells grade (no registration papers). She is equally content living out on pasture or stalled in the barn. Easy keeper.

A little history on Secret...

I originally sold this wonderful mare in 2018 to an adult amateur rider. Together they spent years enjoying natural horsemanship clinics, obstacle challenges, trail riding, and countless pleasure rides. Secret became her absolute "ride-or-die" partner. Unfortunately, significant life changes have forced the owner to liquidate her horses, allowing someone else the opportunity to own this special mare.
