“Howdy” is an incredible once-in-a-lifetime kind of gelding. You won’t find another with his dreamboat personality, looks, manners, breeding, and rideability. He looks like he stepped right out of a Breyer Catalog, with his beautiful dapple buckskin coat and excellent temperament. I could go on and on about how NICE this guy is.

This gorgeous registered AQHA buttermilk buckskin stands a true 15H stout and was born in 2014. He is by a son of Paddys Irish Whiskey, and has Son o Sugar and Jessies Dream on his papers. He is the perfect age and size for any rider to have fun with. He has been owned by the same owner since he was a 2yo, and has been very well cared for. He has been used on a working ranch; exercising bucking bulls, doctoring, branding, checking fences, etc. He takes care of his rider aboard, and has no silly tricks up his sleeve. Last year, Howdy had 30 days on the head side, and shows enormous talent as a head horse. He has miles of trail experience under his belt and handles all sorts of terrain well. Howdy naturally wants to cruise around low profile, with a soft mouth. He has been left off for months at a time, and always rides gentle (no hump/buck/rear/bolt)!

One of the many things that I adore about this gelding is how good minded and intelligent he is- he picks right up where you left him last, and is eager to learn. Howdy is happy about his job, he enjoys both arena and trail work. He is never hot or nervous, but does have a motor when asked for it. He is safe and gentle for ANY rider. He has a ground covering walk, smooth as glass trot, and a get up and go rocking chair lope.  With age, this guy is just going to keep getting better and better.

Howdy is everything you see and more – we encourage you watch ALL his videos. We had such a blast making all his videos for you to enjoy. I got compliments on him everywhere I went. He takes everything in stride, and isn’t fazed by much. Out on the trail, he hangs his head low, on a loose rein, and willingly walks through water, over logs, tarps, gullies, etc. There is always that ONE horse that stands out in your lifetime, and Howdy is definitely it. There is not a single mean or dangerous bone in this gelding’s body.

Howdy has superb ground manners, he stands quiet for farrier/saddling, rides in a group/alone, and is great stalled or in a pasture. He is easy to catch, lead, load, haul, bathe, groom, pick feet, saddle, and bridle (he opens his mouth huge for the bit- LOL). This is one you can load up in the trailer – and ride off in a new place without a worry. We hauled this gelding downtown, where there were cars/commotion/ people hollering etc and he rode quiet and well behaved on a loose rein. Not once, did he balk or spook. He walked up concrete ramps, walked over curbs, and down steep hills. He is incredibly sure footed, and has great bare-feet.

If horses are your kind of therapy, you need this gelding! It is absolutely so therapeutic to be around this guy. He rides bareback, double, without a bridle.
