Joses Peppy Lady

2010. 14.3H. 1200#. APHA. Mare.

$15,000 - SOLD!

You can’t go wrong with this beautiful buckskin mare! She catches eyes wherever she goes, and is so sweet and loving. She is the best trail horse in the barn, and totally “unflappable” with a laid-back temperament and been there done that personality. She has hundreds of trail miles logged under her, including AR, MO, OK, NM, and all-over East TX.

“Josie” is a registered, 2010, 14.3H mare. She weighs about 1200# of pure muscle – and is wide as she is tall. Seriously, this girl is THICK and absolutely STUNNING! Josie is such a kind soul, she loves to be groomed & doted on. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, and gets along with everyone. The coolest thing about this mare is her unfazeable mentality – she could literally careless about what is going on around her. Tarp safe, carries the flag, bouncy ball safe, traffic safe, 4-wheeler, big trucks, you name it she is gentle gentle gentle. Not spooky, laid back, and just a fun mount to go explore all those new trails!  She has gone camping many times and will stand on the high line overnight. She handles rocky, slick, steep, and rough terrain with ease. Josie never hesitates when being asked to cross water, over bridges, down gullies, or over logs. In fact, she loves the obstacles! Josie is willing, brave, and sensible on the trails. She is never in a hurry to get anywhere and is not hot/jiggy! You can ride her out alone, or with a group just fine. Haul her out to a new place and she will step off the trailer like she has been there her whole life.

Formerly used for cowboy chores – this mare has spent many hours tied to the hitching post alongside countless other ranch horses, has been used to doctor cows, drag calves to the fire, moves cows around, check fences, and rope the dummy a bit.  This mare as a ton of cowsense to her – she will pin her ears and will eat one up! She has taken many trips to New Mexico where she has gone from sunrise to sunset working and navigating the land. You can ride her to town and even go underneath the awning by the shops. Seriously, this girl goes anywhere you point her! She adores attention, and just loved when everyone was petting her when we rode her to the Sonic drivethru!

If you want to dabble into the arena, she can do that too! Josie has just completed 30 days with a western dressage approach! She has a great whoa, backs, picks up her leads, and collects into the bridle wonderfully. She will pivot, side pass, go bareback, and ride bridleless. She moves off your seat and has a cowboy neck rein. Goes in a snaffle, or curb bit! She seems to really like our 3 piece dog bone Dutton with a medium shank. She offers no buck, rear, bolt, kick, or bite and has great ground/stall manners. There is no “marettude” with her, and she seems to be a silent heater.  Wears a size 76” blanket, easy keeper, UTD on coggins, recently had her teeth floated by our licensed dentist, adjusted by our barn D.C., shod, and easy to live with. No scars or blemishes on her, sound, and healthy. Papers in hand. Easy for farrier/vet, loads good, saddles/bridles, picks up her feet, and can be handled by non horsie people.  If you are looking for a beautiful to boot, loving, and seasoned trail blazer – you’ve found her. Josie is located in Terrell, TX and we can arrange delivery to any state affordably.
