$8,500

“Elans Bobcat” is a 2007 AQHA registered mare bred and raised by Jim Babcock, and sired by Elans Playboy out of a Miss N Cash granddaughter. She stands a stout 14.2 hands high and has fantastic bone and foot. This mare is really pretty; she has a refined head, gorgeous neck, and a good hip.  Wearing the Babcock ranch brand this mare is a classic. If you are looking for a quality bred mare that you can ride, putz around at the local ranch horse shows, and breed on a shoe-string budget, look no further.  This athletic and quick footed mare is affectionately known around the barn as “Cat”.  Cat has strong cow horse blood to start the foundation of your next successful breeding program! Cat has had 2 foals (2019 +2020) and is a wonderful mother. She cycles regularly and is very easy to get in foal. She certainly stamps her offspring with her conformation and chrome each and every time.  Cat is a finished cutting horse and was shown! She is snappy, light footed, forward, and quick in her maneuvers.  If you like em broke and handy – this mare will leave you smiling! Need a been there done that point n shoot ride? Cat has you covered! She has NO buck, rear, cold-back, silliness, etc. Ride her once a month or once a week, she will always be the same ride.  She is your typical cow bred horse and will watch her surroundings – given the athleticism of this mare we feel it is best she be partnered with a confident rider. Cat can go and do the local fun ranch riding events, cow-horse classes, ranch halter, etc. She is reliable to go check fences out in the pasture and push the cattle to the next pasture. Cat will cross water, maneuver a gate, navigate over a bridge, cruise over fallen branches and will even ride around traffic. The mare has stood barefoot for many years and does great! With hard riding she could benefit from hock maintenance as she does have some arthritis in her hocks which is common wear + tear for a cutting horse her age.  Cat is submissive in a herd, she can be stalled or turned out easily. Cat comes straight up to you to be caught; she loads good, easy for vet/farrier, and is an easy keeper. No injuries, clean legged, EXCELLENT feet/angles, and not currently on any maintenance/special supplements. She has had her teeth done, current coggins, and papers in hand. She has been owned and ridden by a 70-year-old lady for a year now, and is a little pushy (spoiled) on the ground. For the last few weeks, she has been getting with the program here and is remembering her ground manners very quickly.  Whether you need a seasoned horse to use on your ranch, load up and hit the local ranch horse circuit, or need proven bloodlines to add to your broodmare band - Cat is a wise investment. Cat is located in Terrell, TX. Shipping can be arranged anywhere.
