Easy Treasured Cat
15.3H 2008. APHA. Gelding.
$8,500 - SOLD
If you LOVE trail riding & exploring then Ruger is your boy! Ruger is a 2008, 15.3H, BIG APHA registered, gelding. He just loves to trail ride; whether its around the ranch, in town, or at the state park. Always happy, relaxed, and eager on a loose rein to explore new places. Ruger navigates over bridges confidently, rides right through water, steps over logs, is precise with his footing over rocky terrain, and will conquer any obstacle with ease on the trail. We took him into town and rode him at Sonic which he proved himself to be incredibly honest and saintly – even with cars driving by inches from him! He is a brave boy, and is NOT spooky! You can flap a tarp all over/around him, carry a raincoat, saddle bags, or a flag off him. He does not have any tricks up his sleeve, and has NEVER offered to buck/rear/bolt/spook etc. Even if left turned out, he will come up gentle each and every time.
I do not believe he enjoys arena work; he gets overwhelmed and incredibly bored quickly when you ask him to collect and go around in circles. As a matter of fact, he seems HAPPIEST and more relaxed out on the trails/obstacle course where he can adventure. He likes to trail ride with his head hanging long and low, on a loose rein. He will side pass, pivot, and work a gate well as well. This is a really sweet gelding who enjoys affection. He is always waiting for me at his pasture fence waiting to go on a ride! You can swing up on him bareback/in a halter and mosey around the pasture to check cows/fences safely.
Up to date on coggins, shots, farrier, and dental recently done by my licensed dentist. Ruger is an easy keeper, has fantastic ground manners, loads, ties, bathes, stands quiet for mounting and overall is just a gentleman! He is great for the farrier/vet, gets along great with others, and has no vices. He has had three owners his entire life! Current owner has had him for 3 years, and has done trail riding, cowboy dressage, and used him as a husband horse. They have decided to sell out of horses, and shift their focus to family. Sound, healthy, he has a couple cosmetic scars on his back leg that are old and clinically insignificant. Papers/transfer in hand, along with his health records. Ruger has thin soles and does best with front shoes & pads. He also has a very small scar in his right eye that is clinically insignificant ( does not impair vision ). We are looking for an avid trail rider for Ruger, one who loves to adventure and have fun! He would thrive as an obstacle challenge, husband, trail blazer, guest/ranch horse- not as a performance horse. Ruger is located in Terrell, TX. Shipping can be arranged to any state affordably.
