“Cowboy” is a great gentle trail blazer, looking for his next person to call his.  Cowboy is a fantastic partner to take on some of the most extreme trails – he goes through anything, will climb the steepest hills, and loves water! Living 90% of his life on a family cattle ranch, he is accustomed to moving cattle from pasture to pasture and is not spooky on the trail. This flaxen maned grade gelding stands right at 14.2HH, and was approximately born in the year 2013. He has tolerated all sorts of youth shenanigans, from Christmas Parades, Halloween Parties, to running up and jumping on him from behind. He is great to get on and go hit the trails on or off property. Cowboy enjoys being on a loose rein, and carries his head naturally level with his withers and plugs along. He is happy in the front or the back, and will go your desired speed.  He has a basic handle and neck rein that is easy for anyone to use. He has had a rope thrown off him, carries the flag, tarp, drags things, and is not bothered by dogs.  Cowboy wants to find himself a leisure type of home, he does not want to go fast or be pulled on. We will not sell him to a barrel racing home! He is respectful on the ground, gets along with a herd, and is easy to catch. Loads onto any trailer, ties, bathes, good for farrier/ vet, and stands quiet to be saddled. If you are looking to play around on the trails and enjoy yourself – Cowboy is for you! He can sit for long periods and ride up gentle without issue. On a recent trail ride, a flock of birds flew out from a big tree, and all the horses spooked/startled except for Cowboy – he has that typical ranch horse mindset which we love!

Back in September 2020, my equine dentist found an old fractured molar upon inspection during a routine float – he was then brought to an oral surgeon in October to have it surgically removed. He has made a 100% recovery, and Dr. Kimberlin has cleared him to go back to work in November 2020. He has had a recent dental float, updated coggins, current shots, and goes best barefoot. No soundness or health issues.  Cowboy is located in Terrell, TX – affordable nationwide shipping available.
