Andrews Speed Racer

2015. 15.1HH. OTTB. Gelding.

$10,000 - SOLD IN 6 DAYS!

“Andrews SpeedRacer” is arguably one of quietest OTTB I have ever represented. He is the perfect balance between athletic, yet sensible for any beginner to get along with. Andrew is as laid back, kind, and loving as they come. Just look at his kind eyes, they tell it all. How you see him in the videos is how he is every single day, whether you ride him once a month or 5 times a week. Andrew is a 2015 gelding, standing 15.1HH, by Gold Ranger and out of Koko Loca. Andrew had 20 starts, earned 9,684 on the track, and retired sound in the early months of 2019. Since then, he has been a 10-year-old boys lesson & trail horse. Even with a 10 year old boy flopping all in the saddle, pulling on his mouth, and yanking his hands 6 feet into the air - Andrew stays sweet and packs along. Andrew is gentle, extremely tolerant, forgiving, and has zero vices! When their family had guests in town, Andrew was always the first to get pulled from the pasture for pony rides. With his safety and reliability, he quickly became the family favorite. He has seen tarps, banners, cattle, Texas Wildlife, heard gunfire, and is VERY considerate around the kids.

Andrew is soft, supple, and easy in a d ring snaffle.  Big FANCY jump every time, even with his limited over fence training. First few times I schooled him over fences I was flabbergasted with how scopey he was! He uses his neck so incredibly well, and wants to stay round in the air. He has a rhythmic canter that is easy to pick a distance from. Andrew is a dream to ride, his gaits are comfortable to sit, well balanced, and his amicable personality make him really easy to get along with. Best of all- he can take a joke! He has a green flying lead change, counter arcs, picks up his leads, started on lateral movement, packs around on a loose rein, goes Western, and will go down the trail. He can cruise over bridges, cross creeks/ponds, jump fallen logs/debris, and will navigate down embankments.

This gelding is only going to develop nicer and nicer with more time. He is a total natural, quality mover, with a fantastic brain that any trainer looks forward to having for their amateur riders.

Never needing any lunge prep, pasture/stall to arena every trip, no tricks up his sleeve, no buck/rear/bolt, and has excellent stall manners. Hauls, loads, clips, bathe, ties, stands for mounting, easy for farrier/vet, and easy to catch. He is turned out with a herd of horses, and is low man on totem poll.  Recently had a dental with my certified equine dentist, just had an adjustment by my licensed chiropractor, feet just trimmed ( yes – he is barefoot!), and Spring shots/coggins just done. He is CLEAN legged – I can not find a single blemish on him!

Any lesson program, family, amateur, or professional will enjoy this guy. He could fit so many different riders from western dressage, to Hunter/Jumper, cross country, or fox hunting! We would really like to see this guy go to a show home that can train him up the levels and use him to his potential. We know he is a diamond in the rough!  Terrell, TX – shipping can be arranged to any state.
