Brook's
2006. Grade Dun QH. 14.3H. Gelding
$5,500 - SOLD
For those who missed out on my last CONFIDENCE BOOSTER, “Bear”, (who sold in 8 hours after posting!)…..here is your shot at another GREAT gelding! Scoop him up, he will go quick!
“Brooks the Dun” is a super well-broke, quiet, and sweet confidence booster gelding. He gets UNICORN status in my book—just watch his video and find out for yourself! He has a been-there - done-that, type of personality and he will take CARE of you! Brooks would make a great addition to any family looking for a super safe and reliable gelding. He is sure to become your barn favorite. Whether you ride once a year, or 5 times week – he is the SAME horse every ride! He stays gentle and LOVES people! With an easy handle, quiet temperament, and uncomplicated type personality – what more could you want in a horse?
Brooks is a grade line back dun Q.H., born in 2006, and stands a solid 14.3HH with good substance. If you are looking to saddle up and enjoy the ride, Brooks is Mr. Steady-Eddie for you! He is one of the kindest geldings in the barn, with such a fun personality. This guy is really broke, and will ride bridleless just off your seat/leg cues. He is polite on the ground, and under saddle. He will neck rein, collect softly into the bridle, stop on whoa, side pass, work a gate, pivot, and has smooth comfortable gaits. Brooks waits for his riders next cue, and does not look to spook. He rides out quiet and relaxed alone, or with a group. Mud, obstacles, fallen trees, water, rocky terrain, bridges, gullies you name it – he won’t bat an eye.
Brooks carries a flag and does not mind the tarp flapping all over him. He is quiet with the train blaring by, trucks honking, dogs barking, and people hollering. We rode this gelding downtown and he saw it all without making a wrong step. Brooks has a solid brain and has absolutely no bad habits. He has not offered to buck, rear, bolt, kick, crib, bite, weave, etc! I genuinely have nothing negative to say about this exceptional gelding, he passes all my tests with flying colors.
Brooks has been pasture roped off of, has pushed cattle on the ranch, and has done some sorting. I would trust him with my tiny tot riders, as well as timid grandmother. He has been owned for many years by the same family, and due to life changes, they are needing to downsize numbers. He has surpassed their expectations as a camping/trail/family horse, and they are sad to see him go.
Brooks loads up easily onto any trailer, and is happy to ride off property. Brooks is hi-line broke, and is a fun horse to camp out with. He is a gentleman wherever he goes, and is happy to do his job. Load him up, and see what new trails you can discover!
I would love to see Brooks go to a family where he can bring back confidence and happiness. He will thrive in a family atmosphere where he can be doted on by kids, getting lots of horse cookies and attention. Brooks stands quiet for mounting, saddling, vet/farrier, etc. He goes great barefoot(4 black feet), no injuries, and has no known medical/soundness issues. Currently, he is being fed alfalfa/grass hay, stalls well, and gets along in the pasture. He has a current coggins in hand. He does not have registration papers.
These geldings are worth their weight in gold, and I can assure you, they sell quickly.
If you are looking for a well broke, no nonsense, seasoned gelding with color & brains – your search ends here. Shipping available nationwide, we regularly have trips that go to California/Wisconsin/and the East coast (and everywhere in between!).
