Known around the barn as “April” this gal is poised with a forgiving personality, kind disposition, comfortable gaits, and a wonderful handle. April stands barefoot at 14.2HH – born in 2009, this pinto quarter/welsh type has great size bone + substance allowing her to not only support kiddos but adult riders too. April has packed around new-bie riders of all ages and abilities. She is very easy & safe to handle both on the ground and under saddle. She will fall asleep in the crossties as you groom her all day long. April can be caught in a wide-open pasture easily, and does not mind living in a stall too. If safety is your #1 priority – you want this girl!

April originally came out of a Florida jumper barn where she was a youths horse. She has done all the 4-H/pony clubber things and has even been fox hunted off of. She LOVES trail riding– on a draped rein, head hanging low/relaxed, April will go on whatever adventure you dream of. She will cruise over bridges, navigate her way down embankments, ride thru water, and step over logs/branches.  She has seen tarps, flags, dogs, traffic, cattle, and even rode quietly 40 feet from a train that was blaring downtown!  More recently she has been shown on the North TX Hunter/Jumper circuit earning her youth rider many ribbons in the walk-trot, making memories, and giving her confidence as a developing young rider. April turns on her motor over fences (we think she has hidden rockets under her hooves lol), given this, we recommend an experienced confident/fearless rider to jockey her over fences. If you love an adrenaline rush and don’t mind a little speed over fences, you will love this girl. She has no spook or stop, and is a very enthusiastic BRAVE jumper.  

April has no vices (no buck/rear/bolt/spook) and has NO bad habits!  She is not a lazy/push ride, making her very simple to “get up and go” but is not hot, jiggy, or a runaway.  You heard that right! No more frustrated kids kicking and spanking to get that lazy plug to go forward– April comes with her own motor. When asked, she will softly transition into a trot or canter and will come right back down on whoa (great breaks).  April has quality movement to transition into a dressage program as well. She has great extension to her trot, softly comes into your hand, and has a wonderful rhythmic canter that she effortlessly steps into! We would ride her canter all day if we could!  As a western horse, April goes around lovely on a loose draped rein too. You can neck rein her with ease and guide her wherever you need her. Older folks – take note… you are close to the ground and this one is tried & true!

April would love to pack around an older lady in the arena/on the trails or continue to share memories with another young girl/boy who wants to have fun. She sells 100% sound barefoot. Pre vetting on file. Completely UTD on all other care (dental/coggins).  You will not see any nasty “mare” behavior from this girl- she acts more like a gelding!  She stands tied, easy to catch, clips, loads, bathes, great for vet/farrier. Just an easy peasy go with the flow kinda gal! She is an easy keeper, no vices, loves being turned out with friends, good in a stall, and has excellent ground manners.  You will not want to miss her – she’s worth her weight in gold!
