Rebel

2012. 14.3/15H. Quarter Horse. Gelding.

$6,500 SOLD! Congrats to the Frederick family of Nebraska!

Nothing but good things to say about this incredible horse,

“Rebel” is a handsome and cowy 2012,  14.3/15H, Quarter Horse gelding that has a big heart, a quiet personality, and great athletic ability. He has a darling head, correct build, and is compact in size. If you are in the market for a heel, ranch roping, SHOT, ranch riding, or just a simple good using horse - look no further. I’ve owned this outstanding gelding since he was a two year old and with much consideration and with a heavy heart I have decided to find him another home that can enjoy him just as much as my family has.  Rebel has been ranch roped off of, has gathered/pushed cattle up to the house to doctor, and has drug calves to the branding pit.  He just spent 30 days with Kinzy Donnelly being tuned up and trained on the heel side. He has roped the hot heels and has tracked/scored live cattle and boy oh boy does he have potential! Rebel is hard stopping, will guide around one handed, and has a started fancy turn around. Guns have been shot off around him and he stays calm as a cucumber, with more work he could go into mounted shooting with ease. He remains quiet and will ride around new places relaxed and on a loose rein. He has been hauled out to several different arenas, trail courses, and even hauled into town to ride around and this boy doesn’t miss a beat. He has seen the sights and couldn’t give a care in the world about tarps, flags, traffic, tractors, barking dogs etc. This gelding does NOT have a mean bone in his body. He has NEVER offered to buck ( even when he was first started ), rear up, bolt – etc. This is truly an exceptional gelding with impeccable ground manners. Hops right in the trailer, clips (no twitch), bathes, stands for the farrier/vet, ties etc.  Back in 2014, I originally purchased him from his breeder for my inexperienced boyfriend to learn to ride on. Rebel was a terrific babysitter for him and packed him down the trail several times. Since the beginning this gelding has always been quiet, gentle, and in your back pocket.  He is a real sweetiepie and loves attention. He has a puppydog personality that you will adore! This is the type of gelding you want in your family. He is the type that can be passed down to the kids and the kids kids to learn to ride after dad is done using him. Rebel never questions an obstacle, in the video above there was no prior desensitizing to any of the cowboy obstacles and he did them like he was a pro. Rebel is sure footed in all terrain and will ride out alone or in a group. This boy has no bad habits. He has had a 1 time owner. He is sound both in the mind and in the limb. Is lowest on the totem poll and is never one to get aggressive with other horses. While there is nothing that Rebel does that would make him unsuitable for a beginner, I would really like to see him go to a home where someone will use him up to his potential and take advantage of his buttons, finesse, and training. If you are a beginner and are interested in Rebel I will ask that you have guidance by a trainer to keep the nice shiny wheels on this gelding!

He is out a Peptoboonsmal/ Smashing Success mare and by a foundation bred stallion, however, he will sell grade as paperwork was not correctly filed by the breeder as it was a “whoopsy” breed.

Rebel is current on all care, shod (but did well barefoot), requires no special maintenance, and has a current coggins. He does have a small blue tint in his right eye that has been looked over by two different vets and is purely cosmetic. It does not affect his vision or riding. This is a special gelding that holds a place in my heart – It will be very hard to see him go. Excellent home is a must.
