“Oliver” is a true black overo paint gelding with two blue eyes that has the whole package; sweet personality, charisma, quiet ride, stocky thick build, and resume! He was born and raised in Canada and spent most of his time pushing cattle on a ranch, exercising bucking bulls, and being used as a trail horse. Oliver has a really cool ranchy – type of handle to him, one hand neck rein, naturally low head set, ability to move out in his stride, and a punchy ‘whoa’. Oliver would be a fantastic APHA Ranch Riding / Versatility Horse or roping prospect!! He has been lightly shown at local events in showmanship, trail, and ranch pleasure. He has a great mind and is very quiet. Oliver always stands quietly for mounting and is very patient with his rider. Walks really relaxed out on the trails and is extremely sure footed. Walks over brush, through water, over logs, down steep hills etc. He has an in your pocket type of personality and is always the first to greet you at the gate. Turns out great with a herd, shod up front but can also go barefoot, really easy keeper, and has no soundness/health issues. No bad habits/ vices. Easy to load in the trailer and travels on the road well. Oliver has a real presence and will make someone really happy; as a trail blazer, using/ranch horse, or show mount.
