“Cookie” has tons and tons of trail riding miles under her belt. There isn’t an obstacle that Cookie hasn’t crossed! This beautiful paint mare is a stout 15H and was born in 2009. She has been hauled all over the state to attend different clinics and trail riding outings. She has been to several overnight cowboy campouts and will stand quietly tied to the camping line all weekend long. You WILL get compliments on her everywhere you take her. Cookie has an excellent handle on her; she has an easy neck rein, will slide to a stop, and will spin a hole in the ground. She will side pass and will work a gate out on the ranch. This is a very versatile mare that has taken to the hot heels exceptionally well. She will pin her ears and bite at the cows to hustle them on along here at the ranch & has been sorted off of. She would make a nice rope horse with more work and training. If and when persuaded she does have a motor hidden under her tri colored tail. Cookie is alpha mare in our pasture and does better when she has a routine. If you are looking for a horse to ride once a year this is not the horse for you.  This horse is not appropriate for a beginner or timid rider. She enjoys being rode on a loose rein and if you are proficient with your leg cues requires no bridle at all (see video). No bad habits. Never offered to buck/rear but will get fresh if left untouched for months at a time. Clips, ties, bathes, loads onto a trailer, stands for vet/farrier etc.  

 

Cookie is not a registered horse, she sells grade. We do not know this gorgeous girls pedigree. Good thing those beautiful trail paths don’t require papers in order for you to use them! ;)

I sold this mare last August to a very nice couple who used her around the ranch, out on the trails, and who also sorted off of her once in awhile. Unfortunately divorce forces sale. I know the last two people that have owned this mare and she has been well taken care of.

 

No health or soundness issues. Cookie is currently shod but goes well barefoot as well.
